Transformers... The Best Movie Ever Made?

Sun Jul 15, 2007, 12:14 AM
Truly in the eyes of most. We can all say we've had that movie, or maybe we haven't. Its a movie that just grabs u in, it amazes every ounce of u, and then we've had bad ones, that we may not even see again. Micheal bay my friends is my hero, what he has done with Transformers is just amazing, and its the best movie of our generation.

The story is pretty simple if u don't know it already: The Decepticons, lead by Megatron, who is voiced by Hugo Weaving, have come to Earth in search of the Allspark. The Allspark is, basically, a giant cube that has unearthly writing all over it and Megatron is the last guy in the universe you want to get a hold of it because if he does he will have the power to control the universe and you don't want Megatron controlling the universe because he's one evil dude, unlike his brother Optimus Prime, voiced by Peter Cullen. Luckily for humans, though, Optimus and the rest of the Autobots have come to Earth to stop the Decepticons from gaining access to the Allspark. The story is, I'll admit, a little bland for a real life movie, but Michael Bay's masterfully directed action sequences and Industrial Light & Magic's flawless visual effects more than make up for that.

There is one thing that stands out tho most from this movie and its whats packed inside of it that you won;t see from most movies: As i will quote from one of IGN's Reviewers: " How many times have we seen the scrawny, bright kid confront the blonde jock bully and win the hottest girl in school? Or what about the oblivious, uptight parents who somehow manage to block out the gathering of 50-foot robots in their backyard, despite thunderous footfalls and rampant slapstick destruction? How about the cute kid waking up in the middle of the night, thinking the tooth fairy has arrived, only to find a towering robot in her backyard?".

Transformers is very funny as well. I would probably consider this film to be the funniest movie of the year so far. Bernie Mac's brief scene at the car dealership will have you laughing a hell of a lot! There's even a scene where Shia LaBeouf's parents want to know why it took him so long to open his bedroom door. He was trying to get one of the Autobots to stop shining a bright light into his room, but his parents don't yet know about the transformers, so he can't really tell them the truth. So, anyway, his mom asks him if he was masturbating. Everyone in the theatre, including myself, was cracking up at that part. It's really funny and every young guy knows that if his parent, especially his mom, asked him that question he would be very uncomfortable, but Shia handles it quite well, actually. Bottom line, this is funny, funny stuff that will have you laughing uncontrollably throughout the length of the film.

Industrial Light & Magic's work on Transformers is as good as anything else they've ever done and this is the visual effects company that has been nominated for more Oscars than any other visual effects company ever! Guess what? ILM is, no doubt, going to be nominated for yet another Oscar on account of their phenomenal job bringing the transformers to life on the big-screen in live-action. The transformers look ultra realistic, unlike anything I have ever seen before! The CGI in Transformers is not going to be matched, let alone surpassed, by any other movie this year! When I watched this movie I never, and I mean never, felt like I was looking at something created with a computer. This is the absolute definition of masterful visual effects. In my opinion, Transformers is a benchmark film in the world of computer effects. Just like The Matrix in 1999, I expect Transformers will go down in history as a movie that set the bar for CGI and set it damn high!

A Fantastic Story.. loads and i mean f**king loads of action. Bay has outdone himself and has proved he can make a excellent movie. It's the movie that sets Next Gen for movies and effects, 300 folks is nothing till you've watched Transformers.

My Score: 5 out of 5

I loved this movie more than words can express. This is quite possibly my favorite movie ever. Never has action looked this smokin' hot. Never has CGI looked this photorealistic. Never has any film maker reached the level of intensity in any of their films as Michael Bay has reached in Transformers. This film is a masterpiece and I doubt there will be a better movie to come out of 2007. The story may be simple and far from great, but the action sequences are the best I've ever seen and are plentiful throughout the picture. This is the movie action fans have been waiting for since action films were first introduced! Even if you no nothing about Transformers or your not a big fan, This is the film of the year to watch by far. Nothing this year comes close to Transformers.
